Originally, my illustrations were made as a result of investigation into what brings me joy. As a kid, I would read stories and watch movies where ordinary people got to do extraordinary things. As a teen, I got into realism as I started to recognize the beauty in my surroundings. Now, I am bridging the gap, and using my work as a window into the magic that can be found in everyday life. I am a mixed media artist. I have worked digitally using programs such as photoshop and procreate. But I also have a deep love for traditional media such as gouache, ink, and colored pencil. I try to combine my favorite things in everything I do, sometimes making something traditionally and using photoshop to add some extra magic. Or I will work digitally and be able to bend things to my vision over and over again. I feel like in today’s world, people have lost their sense of wonder. As an adult there is so much focus on work and making a living that we forget about the simpler things. My work is there to remind you to reach out to your inner child, find the wonder in everyday life, and for a moment, let yourself be immersed in magic.
